Privacy Policy

Your data
Signal Storm does not require an account and does not use advertising, analytics, tracking technologies or third-party software development kits. The developer does not receive personal data from the app.
Location
Location access is optional and is requested only after you choose Use My Location. Your coordinates are used on your device to estimate the aurora model signal nearby. Signal Storm does not transmit your coordinates to the developer or to NOAA. You can use a manually selected city instead and revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings.
Local storage and notifications
The latest space-weather readings and your preferences are stored locally on your device. Optional notifications are generated locally after the app refreshes NOAA data. Signal Storm does not operate a notification server and does not receive your notification settings.
NOAA data
The app connects directly to public services operated by the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center to retrieve space-weather data and aurora images. As with any internet request, NOAA may receive technical connection information such as your IP address. NOAA's privacy practices apply to those services.
Retention and deletion
The developer does not receive or retain personal data from the app. Locally cached readings and preferences can be removed by deleting the app from your device.
